Sleep training??? For real????

OK, I just read Jessica's blog- have I missed the boat???? Sleep training? what is that???? Everyone keeps telling us that he'll just start to sleep all night on his own, but we keep passing the milestones- 8 weeks, 14 lbs, 4 months, etc- He's past all of those and still doesn't sleep all night- you have to train them????? Help me!!!!!

Rylie has been sleeping 12-14 hours since about 4 months old!!!

I am not sure if I ever thought about it has training, I was just real diligent with a schedule, and it has really paid off. The book that we get this from is really great. I was a little confused by some parts, but it gives you a good idea on what to do. I did the "cry it out" method, but that was mainly for naps. BellaRose did bless us with good night time sleep! there is so much learning with this parenting gig. You are doing a good job. You just pick and chose your battles.

I think I used the same book as Jessica and Sunday. Healthy Sleeping Habits Happy Child - One thing my doctor told me was that if he sleeps through the night one time, it means he can do it all the time...so, if he wakes up the next night, he's not hungry - he's just used to waking up. This was a big eye opener for me, and really helped us to get Chesson to sleep through the night. ~~ I think Jessica and Sunday are you greatest resources in this department. I have sent them many emails:o) ~~ Good luck!!

uh yeah hate to tell you but there is a little "training" that goes with the good sleeper....we had a good book that we referenced....you just cant get obsessed with the books and reading material, only take them for suggestion otherwise you will drive your self crazy....but it worked with the first two kids and we will do it again with the third!if you want to know the book i can tell you or maybe even pass it you at dads on christmas....

Sasha is right tha books are simply guides. No baby fits it to tee but they give great ideas on how you might do something.
