Christmas travels...

William is not a fan of long car rides. That's what I learned this year at Christmas time... We travelled to Atlanta and stayed overnight with William and Emily- baby William loved them and their daughter Maddie pointed out that we should call him William P and her dad William R so we won't get them confused :-)

Emily and William...they gave him the cool new excersaucer!

"I love this Chair"

Maddie would roll the ball and WDP would die laughing - it was sweet....

After our overnight adventure we went to Greenville for the night, then to Elberton for the night, then back to Atl and onto Nashville- see why he doesn't like car rides..... Other than that it was a great time to see our families and more importantly- let them see the baby.

We are going to try to "cry it out" beginning Thursday- I'm trying to get myself psyched up for it...we'll keep you posted!

A few Christmas shots......
he loved the paper more than anything else :-)

Chad and his mom Sandra
William and Grandmom Noni

William has begun to prop himself up on his knees and kind of scoot and rock....

He LOVES anything shiny- cellphones, cameras, remotes, Chelsea Rutherford's shoes.... he wants to crawl towards these things....

I spent most of the car ride in the back trying to entertain/ console him...he spent a lot of time crying and chewing on the paci...

Poor little buddy...
We'll end on a sweet picture of happier times when we got home to 65 degree weather and played in the excersaucer on the deck. I like winter, but I'm ready for spring.....

Happy 5mo Birthday

I know I say this every month, but I can't believe it's going by so quickly! How in the world do I have a 5mo old? What did we ever do without sweet William? To celebrate the big birthday here are 5 things I love about William:

1) His smile- it's adorable and gummy and he does it all the time. We are so lucky to have a
happy baby!
2) His laugh- he's starting to laugh more each day- it's the best sound I've ever heard and it
will make you laugh too- it's awesome!
3) The way he talks- he oohs and aahs and coos with the best of them....
4) The way his face looks when you hold him over the bed and pretend to let him fall into the
covers and pillows. He LOVES this and his face shows it. It's the best face in the world.
5) His snuggle right when he gets up from a nap. He is my little snuggle bunny. He just
smells so baby-like and is so soft. I love it....

He is "almost" sitting up. He's great at sitting up when you hold his hands, but he'll only sit by himself for a few seconds before falling over. he just receieved the coolest excersaucer in the mail from William and Emily- (Thank you!!!!!!) Check him out. I'll post a video next week. he loves this thing and I love that it gives me a minute to fold the laundry or make bottles. We have it set up right in front of the glass doors to the deck so it's almost like he's outside, so he loves it even more. He really has to work to balance in it which is awesome for his muscles. We'll be sitting up all on our own any day now!

Happy Birthday William!!!!!

First haircut!

William turns 5mo old on Tuesday (happy early birthday sweet baby) but I felt like his hair was just getting out of control. I miss the short hair he had when he was first born. It was just getting so long that it was starting to lay flat and was almost in his eyes, so today he got a haircut. getting to know Tony before the big cut
I didn't want it to be a boxy "boy cut" just a little shorter all over and still keep the "piecey-ness" if that's even a word :-) I had my hair cut and then Tony, my favorite stylist of all time, cut sweet Williams- this was after he won over all the girls in the salon. I think he knew something was going on. He sat in the carrier patiently while Tony cut my hair and then he worked his Edward Scissorhands magic on WDP. He was so good while he was getting it cut- he just chewed on his soothie paci and looked around... I hope he'll always behave like that, but probably not!

It's perfect! Just shorter all around and he still looks like a baby. It's even standing up a little bit more now- good! I do think they should make baby products for hair. I would totally buy them.... a little fauxhawk would be so sweet when he's rocking the snowman jon-jon! I'll try to get some cute pictures tonight- we're going to Opryland Hotel to see the lights!

I just thought this was a cute picture from earlier in the week- he was showing Tigger who's boss!

Ahhh, exam period

The school semester is quickly winding down and I am loving exam time! I already have the first two weeks of January planned and time to update the blog again.... So here are more pictures from the last few weeks. Oh, and William's new thing- he just started this is to make his mouth move like he's saying "ta-ta". Our babysitter brings her little girl, Cecilia ,who does this all the time. I think that's where he picked it up- either way it's A-dor-able- not that I'm biased....

After my own heart- he loved looking at the cookies I made last weekend....

Taking after Chad- he's fascinated by the Rubik's cube This is a special cube I found for Chad a few years ago- he still can't solve it....

Chad set up a new play area for William- He wants to sit on the floor and play with things in his bouncy- not quite the traditional way, but it works :-)

He's started eating rice cereal and is a master of the spoon..well sort of. He wants to hold the spoon while you put it in his mouth....last night he ate 3 T of rice and 1T of oatmeal- big boy! I think he likes the oatmeal better...

We went to "Dickens of a Christmas" this past weekend- lots of carollers, people in costumes, dogs, kettle corn, your basic street festival. He loved it and was quite the hit- it was the hat, poeple love things with ears...

The last one is for Courtney- she wanted a pirate patch and we were at a Pirate birthday party and saw one, so I thought you'd like a little WDP Pirate love Courtney- we miss you!

Lots of pictures

I know, I know- I haven't posted in a long time....sorry! It's the end of the semester, the Holidays are getting closer, etc- no excuse, but I am sorry it's been awhile.... So I thought I should just post a lot of pictures and put some captions so you can see what's new with baby William....

Chad's new thing is putting him in the pouch and playing music- William loves it. I wonder if he can feel the vibrations and that's what he likes????

We went to a birthday party at Discovery Center and this was in the kids area- he loved it. It was a huge hexagon, octagon, something-agon with mirrors...

Christmas cookies for my colleagues at work....

Nap time with mommy- he's not too much of a snuggler these days, but everynow and then I can convince him to catch up on days of Our Lives with me :-)

someone's learned how to flip out of the bouncy...that must be why they put straps on them :-)

he's so excited to go outside- even if it was just for yard work....

after a good run...he's getting so big in the stroller!

he loves trying to hold his own bottle- but can really only do it when it's about empty :-)

he wasn't too sure about the swing...but finally figured it out and loves it! But only for about 15 minutes at a time....
Blogger will not let me add any more pictures right now....maybe this afternoon :-)

Sleep training??? For real????

OK, I just read Jessica's blog- have I missed the boat???? Sleep training? what is that???? Everyone keeps telling us that he'll just start to sleep all night on his own, but we keep passing the milestones- 8 weeks, 14 lbs, 4 months, etc- He's past all of those and still doesn't sleep all night- you have to train them????? Help me!!!!!
