The Holidays are here....

William celebrated his first Thanksgiving yesterday at Shawn and Vanessa's and was quite the hit. He kept talking and talking and cooing, ooohing, etc- He only cried once when Shawn tried to snuggle with him and had a scratchy face..poor baby, poor Shawn for making him cry! I love Thanksgiving because it makes you stop and remember just how lucky and blessed we all are! I've got a healthy and extremely happy baby, a wonderful husband who loves me and the baby, a good job, a house- what more could a girl want?

With Thanksgiving behind us it can only mean one thing...holiday outfits are here! We've already had our Santa photo taken- but you'll have to wait on that picture :-) here's him right after the Santa shot...

Of course he needs a casual outfit so I made a little onsie and after I put the trunk on the tree I realized I did it crooked, so I tried to "fix" it and make the tree sideways- funky. Hopefully it'll be OK :-)

We watched Oprah this morning (I love tivo) and he was into the Holiday show. This little guy loves his Oprah...

On another note, my good friends Ashley and Arjun are in India this week. They went to New Delhi, and not being a geography scholar like my friend Christian I have no idea how close...or hopefully far... away they are from what's going on over there. Please say a small prayer for them that they are safe! We are off to our four month doctor appointment today...hopefully no shots are involved....

Surprise

I am wearing out the video function on our camera. now that it doesn't chime when you turn it on, you can really sneak up on WDP and get some cute movies. he's pretty much a pro at the rollover. EVERYTIME you put him down he wants to flip- on the changing table, in the crib, everywhere. I think he's doing a better job of holding his head up after the flip. He's still not too sure what to do once he's rolled over. Sometimes he'll kick enough that he turns sideways.... I was trying to hold him back until I could start the camera for this video...he gives you a little surprise at the end!

We went to Birmingham Monday just for the day to see my college roomie and her mom. WDP was such a ham, smiling and cooing. I was a little embarrassed that William now wears the same size diapers as Katie- her 18month old! We'll find out exactly what he weighs Friday when we go in for his check-up. I hope he's not off the charts huge! What a fun daytrip, and now I know just how difficult it is to travel in a car with a baby- oh the joys of Christmas travelling! Good Luck on your trip to FL Byerly! He just wants to squirm, and then I want to hold him Brittany Spears style, but I can't because I'm a rule following type- A kind of girl.

Chad and I were scrolling through pictures and Chad has an uncanny ability to say pretty funny things about pictures- like he'll say something the person should be saying when that's not at all what they were doing, but it could've been- like in this picture I thought- baby William is stretching (he loves to stretch) how sweet and Chad immediately thought he was channeling his inner Super Mario Brothers and jumping over something....

I'm glad Chad still makes me giggle :-)

Happy 4mo Birthday to baby William!

What a change in just 4months!!!!!

Today is William's 1/3 year birthday! I love half birthdays (you just missed mine Nov 6), and think for William we will celebrate the thirds, and half year birthdays- always a reason to celebrate! I have been busy working on a Christmas outfit so we can go see Santa this week (school's out all week!) How cute is this? It's super soft corduroy- perfect for WDP! he will also have one with a snowman, but that's later in the week...

Chad was in Atl this weekend and William and I got to catch up with an old friend Vern who was in town for a convention- so fun! I still can't believe he's married with 3- almost 4 kids! It seems like just yesterday he lived with Reggie and they had a moldy shower curtain! It was fun to hear about his work at the Methodist church in Boone. I didn't know he had to give a sermon for their non-traditional service every Sunday morning- now I feel badly that I'm always telling him to update his blog- I publicly- well as public as my blog is, apologize :-) But you should still at least upload pics every so often so we can see how big your kids are!!!!

I love school vacations- they are the best part about being a school teacher. Hopefully I will get some rest, finish all sewing projects, and get some good baby William time this week :-)

Rolling Over!!!

Well, William has decided he's no longer content to just hang out on his back, he's been twisting and kicking and all of that has lead to him rolling over! He did it for Chad Monday when I was working, and now does it consistently. It's making changing diapers a little more challenging :-) Yesterday he was quite confused when he's flip over, but now he kicks and looks around. Tummy time is not so bad after all when you get there by yourself. I can't wait to be out of work all next week and spend lots of time watching his new "tricks!" The picture is his new view of life....

I know the video is dark, but our living room doesn't get too much lighting in the afternoons- well that's because it's dark at 4:30- I hate Central Time on daylight Savings!!! Enjoy the video and ignore me cheering for him :-) Goooo Baby!!!

FYI....

Just so you know...baby William can roll over :-) He did it yesterday while I was at work- sad- but did it again last night. he can only roll one way, but it's still exciting!!! Chad has also learned how to turn the sounds off on the camera so we can sneak up on William for better pictures and movies! Two guys, two tricks- life is good! If only I had a trick...oh wait I'm in pre-maternity pants today- maybe that will count as my trick, they're tight, but they're on- a step in the right direction!!! I will try to get a video of sweet baby rolling over tonight....

Could I be any cuter????

I know I am biased, but....We are so lucky. We seriously have the sweetest baby in the world. Just look at him...

That's his new thing...sitting in the bumbo or bouncy just looking outside. He loves it! He's is such a little nature boy. If he's fussy you can walk outside and everything's better almost instantly. It's pretty funny. I'm sure the neighbors laugh when they see me walking with a blanket wrapped around him because it's the quickest way to keep him warm and get out the door so the fussing will stop :-) He's really gotten pretty good at grabbing things and passing them back and forth.

He loves trying to stand....

I just thought this was funny- he kept putting his arm in Chad's pocket.... :-)

I had his bumbo turned away from the television the other night and he would do this to watch it...
The guy loves his Oprah. Seriously, when she's on he flaps his arms and kicks his leg. Loves her. Just wait til her "favorite Things" show airs- I'll be kicking and flapping with him :-)

My sweet friend Courtney had her 24th birthday and we joined her at Jim and Nick's...William's fond of pretty girls :-) Jenny's on the left and Courtney's on the right.
Happy Birthday Courtney!!!
William- post party...all that smiling and flirting with everyone wore him out :-)

Last but not least here's just a shot of how intensely he looks at things now. And to think Chad said he wouldn't like this toy.......

November's here already???

How can it be November already? And almost the middle of November at that? Time is flying by so quickly. While I find myself wishing away the time so it'll be winter break and then summer vacation, I want time to slow down. William's changing so fast, I want to take it all in...

William has just started sitting in the Bumbo and loves it. We have the little tray and it's perfect for setting toys on and letting him grab away. He looks at most toys with such intensity, it's pretty funny :-)

He has a new obsession with this ball Dad and Betsy bought him last spring (his first toy). His fingers slip right into the holes and he can pass it back and forth- so cute!

I've mentioned before how he has become a drool machine. We bought a ton of new bibs last weekend- he's started drooling through four or five a day. The washing machine just couldn't keep up! he's become quite fond of the thumb. We've tried hard to not use the paci- we folded and he has one (actually about 7! I can't keep up with sterilizing them!!!) We've tried to avoid the thumb, but I think hte thum is winning. The sad part is- Chad and I both think it's super cute when he gets his tiny little thumb into his mouth....

He's still not fond of tummy time, but he's tolerating it a little bit better....

For Halloween we just hung out at the house and passed out candy. Someone got very sleepy. He fell asleep as I was taking his costume off.....

The leaves are turning and it's starting to get a chill in the air(again- it was cold, hot, cold)- I love the fall!!! I've already got my fingers crossed for a few snow days this year.
